Author's Note: THIS IS AN MPREG. Not a norm for this fandom, but I've chosen to create my own little world where male pregnancy is a common thing and so I must do at least one in the FatF fandom. Please enjoy.Four months. That's how long it had been since Dominic Torreto had been near Brian O'Connor. It didn't seem long when he said it like that, but when he thought of the rage and sorrow that had been building those four months seemed like an eternity in hell. With sturdying breath Dom knocked on the door of the little cottage Brian had moved to after he had been fired from the police force. At first Dom hadn't been able to do anything to help him, being on the run. But Dom had been happy to find out Brian had been an inheritance baby and had more than enough to live on.
Leon had been watching him. Leon had been the luckiest of them all. No one had been able to put a positive i.d. on him so he had been able to stay in LA as the team's local eyes and ears. And he had been watching Brian since the team had had to flea to Buenos Ares. The only thing he could report was that Brian had come and gone like normal until a month had passed since he had handed the keys to Dom. Then he had become pale and withdrawn and rarely left his house. Even had his groceries delivered. Leon had only counted three trips out of his house and those had always been to a taxi waiting for him. Leon had told him that Brian had to be sick and asked if he could go check on him, to which Dom had ordered a quick and decisive 'no'.
Now, Dom stood there and knocked a second time. A moment later the door opened partially and Dom got his first good look at him in four months. Most of the tan he remembered so well was gone, bleached out by some kind of illness. His hair hung in longer waves, as if he hadn't had time to get it cut. But it was his eyes that spoke to Dom. There was only a tiny bit of the spirit that Dom knew him for.
"Dominic..." Brian breathed his hand going to his slowly growing stomach. He had never had the chance to tell Dom of the baby. In fact until after he had been fired he hadn't known himself. "Brian Spillner... Or should I say O'Connor." Dom said back as he studied Brian's face and body. Though he seemed sick, it looked as though he were graining some weight.
"Come in... I need to sit down." Brian moved away from the entrance and sank onto the couch nearest to him, rubbing his tummy trying not to get ill from all of the movement he had done to get to the door.
Dom followed and watched Brian's slow and careful movements, as if being upright alone was making him ill.
"Are you okay?" Dom scrapped out, angry because he was worried for Brian.
Brian let out a weak chuckle. "Yeah, just peachy."
"Don't give me that. You look like shit." Dom said bluntly. "Yeah... You try being pregnant in the hottest of summers in memory." Brian said it before he even thought, then paled when he realized he just blurted out his secret.
The bigger man stared down at the hand resting over the baby. A baby. Brian was pregnant. If he had been getting sick as soon as a month after they had left... Then the baby was his.
Without thinking Dom started laughing. "My baby?"
Brian nodded and let his head lean down so his chin rested on his chest.
"This is clever... Hell even Letty never pulled this one."
Dom shook his head, angry that he had missed such an obvious thing and that Leon had let him walk into this situation extremely unprepared.
Brian cringed when he felt the first tremor in his throat.
He hated crying, but since he had become pregnant it seemed like it was all he could do.
"I can't believe this Brian... I come back to make sure you're not a danger to me or my team and I find..." Dom gave a wide gesture to Brian's growing middle. He didn't know what had gotten into him. Brian, the man he... loved, was having their child. But then again Dom first reaction to surprises was to get angry.
Brian curled in on himself and listened to Dom's words. That must be how it seem to him. That this child was nothing but a hassle. Actively crying now Brian pointed at the door. "Get..." he sobbed as a lance of pain went through his stomach, "...out." Dom stormed towards the door then turned and looked back at Brian who was now sobbing. Throwing his hands up in the air Dom stormed out.
Brian cringed as he felt another pain in his stomach. "Shit." Leaning over and grabbing the phone he dialed 911.
"I need help... I think I'm losing my baby."********
After he had walked out, Dom had just went down the block thinking about what he need to do. First thing was apologize. Then beg for forgiveness. And get to know his baby... He was going to be a daddy. Him, Dominic Torreto, a father. Shit, he was going to have to get the Charger out of the impound yard, some how. His boy... or girl would need something to drive when they were older. And there would be nothing safer on the road than that Charger.
With that thought he turned and started back toward Brian's house. As he got nearer he heard the sirens and seen the ambulance sitting in front. "Shit." He took off running as he seen the paramedics wheeling Brian out of the house.
As he got nearer he tried to see what was going on only to be stopped by a cop on scene. "You can't go over there, sir."
"He's my... lover." Dom said the word and pushed past the uniform, not carrying that he could be recognized and arrested. All that mattered was Brian and their baby.
"We have a four and a half month pregnancy with a case of severe hypertension and he's suffering from severe cramps, possibly contractions." Dom could hear the paramedic talking into his mic on his shoulder as he hurried closer.
Once at the gurney's side he took Brian's hand. "Bri?"
Brian turned his face to look at him with tear filled eyes. "I'm sorry." With those whispered words Brian's head sagged as he passed out from the pain.
"Brian?" Dom called his name as he walked with the gurney all the way to the ambulance and then on the ride to the hospital.********
Dom waited in the emergency waiting room praying as he hadn't since he was a boy. He was even saying his Hail Marys to make up for all the shit he had caused.
"Hail Mary full of grace-" He had just started in on Mary number 237 when a nurse came out and moved to stand near him. "What?" he demanded looking up.
"You're the one who came in with Mr. O'Connor?"
"Yes... Is he okay? What about the baby?" Dom stood up, forgetting about his Hail Marys.
"They're both fine... Though it was a little touchy and will be for the next day or so... You can see him if you wish." After he nodded she led him to one of the private rooms on the third floor.
At the door she left him and he stood there looking in at Brian's resting face. Just as he was about to leave Brian opened his eyes and looked at him. Slowly Dom walked in and stood next to his bed side.
Brian got a funny look and shook his head as he tilted himself to look fully at Dom.
"You have your revenge, Dominic. You're killing me in a way you'll be able to get away with. Your baby is set to leave this world and take me with it." Brian laughed weakly as he cradled his stomach. "Like father, like child. This baby is killing me and I love it anyway. Just like you... And you know what Dom? I don't care. The only thing that upsets me is my baby is going to die... all for revenge." With those words and a bitter smile Brian rolled away from Dom.
Dom didn't know what to say. How must it seem to Brian? All the anger and the rage he had shown as soon as he knew about the baby. "No..."
"What?" Brian asked with his back to the racer.
"No... our baby isn't going to die and no he isn't taking you with him. I... want you both... need you both." Dom tried to force the words out, but somehow he couldn't say 'love'. "Whatever." Brian closed his eyes and tried to rest as the doctor told him to.
"Listen to me, Brian... I wanted to come to you... and tell you..." Dom tried to get the 'l' word out, but it just wasn't coming. Before Dom went on he walked to the other side of the bed and seen that Brian was actually asleep. Sighing, Dom sat down in the chair facing Brian and waited, hoping that Brian would listen to him after everything that had happened.*********
