"Wesley, I can do it!"
"What's going on?"
Wesley and Cordelia looked up at Angel, who had just come downstairs.
"Cordelia wants to try a spell," Wesley explained.
"Oh," Angel shrugged. "Okay."
Wesley groaned. Was he other only one with any sense around this place? "Angel, what if she messes it up? What if..."
"It's just a little spell."
Wesley sighed. "This could be messy."
Cordelia looked at the spell again. "Okay, so I just do..."
She went on about it for a while, then took off to get some stuff.
"Am I the only one with any sense?" Wesley asked. Angel chuckled. "Angel, these spells can be dangerous!"
"Well if she wants to try."
Wesley threw his hands in the air. "Fine!"
Angel walked away. Wesley watched him go. Lately the slightest thing Angel did infuriated him, though he couldn't have said why. And if Angel smiled...Wesley didn't know that many mixed emotions at once were possible. He'd feel all mushy and angry at the same time. Along with a good deal of other emotions...Wesley groaned. *stop thinking. no, don't stop thinking, just stop thinking about him!*
Cordelia came back and Wesley decided to take a nap. He headed upstairs to a room just near Angel's and flopped down on the bed.
*
Cordelia finished the spell and waited for something to happen. Nothing.
"Well that didn't work," She murmured out loud.
There was a sudden flash upstairs. She grinned.
"Got ya! Now lets see if it worked..."
Cordelia snuck upstairs in time to see Wesley disappear into Angel's room, looking like he was in a trance. She grinned again.
"Yup, it worked."
*
Wesley woke up feeling sore in places he didn't know could feel sore. It was a pleasant kind of sore though. He yawned and snuggled deeper into the pillows.
Something moved behind him, and suddenly Wesley realized he was naked. When had that happened? And who was behind him?
Wesley rolled over and blinked.
"Angel?!" he squeaked.
Angel woke up. "Hmm? Oh jeez!"
Angel shot out of bed and realize he too was naked. He whipped a sheet around his waist.
Wesley started to laugh.
Angel frowned. "Wes? You okay?"
Wesley looked at Angel. "I TOLD you not to let her do that spell, didn't I?"
Angel chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you did. Can you remember anything?"
"I remember waking up in some kind of trance, then...well..."
Angel nodded. "Okay, we quite obviously had sex. Now how did Cordelia mess it up that bad?"
Wesley started laughing again. "Maybe she DIDN'T mess it up."
Angel's eyes widened. "You think she'd do this on purpose?"
Wesley shrugged. "Why not?"
"Are you guys done making all that noise yet?"
Angel went over and opened the door. "Did you do this?"
Cordelia put on an 'oops' look. "I didn't mean to! Why ever would I want to make you two have sex?"
"I have no idea."
Wesley pulled his jeans on under the sheet and hopped out. "I told you not to do it," He accused Cordelia.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry."
Cordelia went back downstairs. "Damn it, how dumb are you guys?"
Wesley showed up a minute later. "Next time will you study first?"
"Yeah."
Wesley picked up the book she'd used and his eyes widened. "Cordelia, do you realize what this spell can do? Other than what it quite obviously did?"
"No, what?"
Wesley dropped the book in shock. "It can...read it."
Cordelia picked it up, read it, dropped it. "Oh my god, so you could be...oh my god!"
"Only a maybe," Wesley said shakily.
Angel came down. "Everything okay?"
Wesley looked up. "If it had just been sex it would have been fine, I've...done that before. But Cordelia picked a wonderful little spell that has the ability to make one of the two..."
He couldn't finish. Angel picked it up and dropped it just like Cordelia and Wesley had.
"Pregnant!" He yelled.
Wesley nodded, shock still written all over his face. "But it's only a possibility, so I may not have to kill Cordelia."
"Hey! I didn't mean to do that!"
Wesley gave her a look. "I have a feeling you meant to do the other. Perhaps not that last part, but..."
Cordelia looked a little guilty. "Sorry, it's just..You've been staring at Angel for months, it got sickening. I even did this and you still don't realize it! Why are guys so stupid!"
"On behalf of my gender, hey," Angel stopped, thought for a second. "Oh my god I DID NOT just sound like Xander Harris."
Wesley laughed. "Yes, actually, you did."
Angel made a disgusted face. "Okay, so you could be...that, but you could not be too. Mostly likely not. And why are we stupid, Cordy?'
"Cause you like each other and you won't admit it."
"Do not!" They both denied at the same time.
"Oh yeah? Then why aren't you wigging because I made you have sex?"
"Because we've both had sex with other men before," Angel explained.
"Oh. Who?"
Angel snorted. "Spike here."
"You had sex with Spike? Okay, that's cool I guess. You Wesley?"
"My lips are sealed."
Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Come on, who?"
Wesley shook his head. Cordelia started guessing.
"Um, not Giles, right?" Wesley shook his head violently. "Uh, who esle is in your past...oh god it's not Ethan is it?"
Wesley shook his head again. "I didn't really know Ethan."
"Well who then!"
Wesley shook his head. "No."
Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Fine. Anyway, do you two get the picture yet?"
Angel and Wesley shook their heads. Cordelia made a furstrated noise.
"Men!" she walked into the other room.
Wesley looked up at Angel. "What's wrong with us?"
"I really don't know."
Wesley looked in Cordelia's direction. "I can't believe she purposely made us have sex."
"I can."
Wesley chuckled. "Well, I'm just going to go back upstairs now. BAck to bed. Alone."
Angel laughed. "Don't worry."
Wesley turned and ran up the stairs. He got to his room and let the hysterical laughter that had been threatening the whole time come to the surface.
"Oh god," he moaned. Cordelia was right, he had been staring. He just...he shook his head.
"Cordelia Chase, I am going to kill you," He murmured before collapsing on his bed.
Wesley woke up slowly. He yawned and opened his eyes. His first thought was that he was craving something. The question was what? He got up and went down to the kitchen. He pulled open the fridge door and grabbed the first thing he saw. He took a big drink of it and the craving eased. He took a look at the container and dropped it in shock.
"Oh dear god!" He picked it up again and quickly put it back. He cleaned up the mess and slammed the fridge door closed as Cordelia came in.
"What're you doing?"
"Nothing!" Wesley said a little too quickly. He looked down and covered a small spot of blood he hadn't gotten with his foot. "Why?"
"I heard say 'oh dear god' which usually means something's wrong."
"No, no, nothing is wrong, I just dropped something."
Cordelia gave him a 'yeah, right' look before shrugged. "Okay. Angel wants your help with some demony thing."
Wesley nodded wiggling his foot slightly to get rid of the rest of the blood. "Alright."
He went into Angel's office. Angel looked up as he got there. He frowned and sniffed.
"Wesley? Did you..."
"No!" Wesley suddenly found his feet fascinating. "What?"
Angel shook his head. "Nevermind."
Angel told Wesley the latest demon. Wesley concentrated on finding out what it was.
Near noon the craving came back, but Wesley was to nervous to even enter the kitchen, much less open the fridge again. Angel gave him a funny look.
"What?" Wesley asked.
"You're nervous. I can smell it."
Damned Vampire senses! "No, why would I be nervous?" Wesley looked back down at his book.
"I don't know, but you are."
"No I'm not."
Angel sighed. "Did you get into the blood?"
Wesley jumped slightly, knocking the book on the floor. "No!"
"Then what am I smelling?"
"Nothing!"
Wesley put the book back on the table, then got up and fled. He ran back to his room. What was wrong with him?
Wesley suddenly remembered the book. He groaned.
"No no no no no no," he chanted. "Can't happen. Just can't."
Wesley threw an arm over his eyes and tried to pretend he didn't exist.
He lay there for ten minutes before the craving forced him to go back down and into the kitchen. He opened the freezer this time, pretty sure there wouldn't be any Vampire treats in there. He saw a small container of ice cream and grabbed it. He shut the freezer. Grabbing a spoon, he looked around to make sure Cordelia wasn't there before darting back to his room.
He'd only just gotten the top off and had taken one bite when Cordelia knocked. Wesley hid the container behind his back.
"Yes?"
Cordelia opened the door. "Did you steal my ice cream?"
Wesley swallowed nervously. "No."
Cordelia tried to look behind him. "Then what's behind you?"
Hoping the ice cream was still frozen enough not to spill on the blanket, Wesley dropped it and brought his hands out. "Maybe Angel ate it?"
"Yeah, right. You've got it."
"I do not!"
Cordelia dived behind him and grabbed it. "Then what's this!"
Wesley grabbed it as well and tried to yank it from her. "Give that back!"
"It's mine!"
"I don't care!"
"Why would you want it?"
"I don't know, I was craving something."
Cordelia stopped tugging and started to laugh. "Oh, god, I think that...thing that was too unnatural to think about is happening."
Wesley frowned. "Why?"
"Because you're craving things."
Wesley groaned. "Cordelia, please please please let me have the ice cream."
Cordelia sighed. "Alright, but only this once! And you have to buy me more!"
Wesley nodded. "Alright, just give me that."
Wesley yanked it out of Cordelia's hands and grabbed the spoon again. Cordelia sighed and went back downstairs.
"I think that thing happened," She told Angel.
"Hmm?"
"The pregnant thing."
Angel looked. "Oh. Um, why?"
Cordelia laughed. "Cause Wesley's craving things. He stole my ice cream."
Angel snorted. "Okay. That's...weird. But we deal with weird things."
Cordelia rolled her eyes. "I'll leave so you can panic."
She walked back out.
Wesley threw the container in the garbage and just threw the spoon over his shoulder, feeling to lazy to go and put it in the sink.
He heard a 'holy shit!' from downstairs and wondered if Cordelia had told Angel or if he was panicking about something else. Deciding he didn't really care at that moment, Wesley curled up on the bed and went to sleep again.
Wesley woke up and rubbed his eyes. He got up and went over, picking up the spoon from its place on the floor. He looked at it for a minute, then sighed and went downstairs. He placed it in the sink.
"You sure were asleep for a while," Cordelia said behind him.
"Mm," Wesley answered. His stomach felt funny, like it kept getting twisted. "I'm not feeling very well."
Cordelia frowned. "Uh oh."
Wesley suddenly clamped a hand over his mouth and ran for the bathroom. He fell to his knees in front of the toilet and held onto both sides as he threw up.
He heard someone come in, then felt a hand on his back. "Wes? You okay?" he heard Angel ask.
"I have to deal with this for nine months?" Wesley moaned. He felt Angel's hand started running up and down his back.
"Seems that way."
Wesley moaned again. "Not...Fair."
Angel chuckled. "Sorry."
"Not your fault...well, I suppose it is a little, but it's mainly Cordelia's."
Wesley mananged to stand up and flush the toilet. "Ug. Do we have anymore ice cream?"
Angel laughed. "Lets look."
Angel left his hand on Wesley's back as they entered the kitchen. Angel opened the freezer and dug around for a moment.
"No, sorry."
Wesley sighed. "Could you...?"
"Yeah, sure. Anything in particular?"
"Just don't get anything with nuts."
"Okay."
Wesley sat down at the table. Cordelia reached over and put a hand on his arm.
"I wonder when the mood swings start?" Cordelia wondered out loud.
"Mood swings?"
Cordelia nodded.
"Oh dear."
Wesley looked down and ran a hand over his stomach. "I wonder when it starts showing?"
Cordelia shrugged.
Angel came back a few minutes later, carrying at least three bags. Wesley jumped up and grabbed one, placing it on the counter and digging around.
"Is all of this ice cream?"
Angel chuckled. "No, the other bag just has munchies and stuff. Just in case. I didn't really know what to get."
"Thank you," Wesley grabbed a container of chocolate fudge ice cream and eagerly dug into it. "Did you get a lot of chocolate?"
Angel nodded. "Yeah. There's some mint and things like that too. And some chocolate sauce."
Wesley nodded. "Thanks," he said again around a mouthful of ice cream.
"Your welcome."
Cordelia and Angel looked at each other. Angel went over and sat down.
"Um, he'll get mood swings, right?"
Cordelia nodded. "Yeah."
"Yay," Angel sighed. "Do you know when they get bad."
"Oh, expect a mood swingy Wesley within the next few days."
"Great." Angel sighed. "He's not going to be able to go out for a bit, either."
"Nope."
Wesley came over and sat down, still digging away at the ice cream. Angel watched him. Watched Wesley's lips mold around the spoon, watched as his eyes closed in pleasure at the taste of the ice cream. He didn't even realize Cordelia was talking to him until she waved a hand in front of his face.
"Angel?"
"What? huh?" he looked over at her. She giggled.
"Nevermind."
Angel shrugged and looked at Wesley again.
"So, um, you going out tonight, Angel?" Cordelia asked.
"What? Oh, yeah, I guess."
Wesley scraped the bottom of the container and licked off the spoon. Angel swallowed. Cordelia snickered.
"Don't you think you should stay home with Wesley? Since I'm going out with some friends tonight, and he might need help with....something?" Cordelia said to Angel.
"Yeah, sure," Angel answered absently. "I'll stay."
Cordelia giggled, then got up. "Okay, I'm going now."
Wesley looked up as she left, then looked over at Angel, taking one last lick of the spoon. Angel swallowed again and tried to look like he was just staring off into space.
"So, what do we do while Cordelia is gone?" Wesley asked suddenly.
Angel shrugged. "Play a game?"
Wesley shook his head, then yawned suddenly. "I think I'll just take a nap."
Wesley went over to the couch that Angel had just recently bought and curled up on it. Angel's eyes widened slightly. How was it possible for someone to look that cute?
Angel suddenly realized what he had just thought. *you don't like Wesley* he told himself.
*yes you do* that stupid little inner voice answered.
*I don't!*
*you do!*
Angel sighed. Great, he was arguing with himself. He got up and started to go to his office. He paused, then grabbed the blanket and tucked it around Wesley before going in.
Angel heard retching sounds from the bathroom and sighed. Cordelia still hadn't gotten back, and he was stuck here until she did get back. He heard the sounds stop.
Wesley came down a moment later. "I hate this," He muttered, sitting down a bit dejectedly on the couch.
"Blame Cordelia."
Wesley chuckled. "I'm begining to think maybe I WILL kill her. It might make me feel better.
Wesley stood up again suddenly. "Damn it."
"What?'
"nothing. I just need some more ice cream."
Angel chuckled. "That must be getting really annoying."
"You don't know the half of it."
Wesley went into the kitchen and grabbed a container. He grabbed the bottle of chocolate syrup as well, then went back to the couch. He ripped off the top of the container and dumped a large amount of the syrup on top. Angel made a face.
"What?" Wesley asked around a mouth full.
"Lot of chocolate."
Wesley swallowed the sticky mess and nodded. "I know."
He took another bite. "I wonder when these mood swings start?"
"I don't know. But you've already wondered that, haven't you?"
Wesley laughed. "Yes, I suppose I have. I'm just...curious, I suppose. and I think you won't like me very much for a while."
"Probably not."
Wesley mock glared at him, then leaned over and wacked him on the arm. Angel laughed, then grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.
"Hey!" Wesley grabbed it and threw it back. It hit Angel in the face. Angel laughed and picked it up again, jumping up from his seat and wacking Wesley repeatedly with it. Wesley grabbed his own and the two of them beat on each other for a moment, laughing. It ended only because Wesley's ice cream spilled on his pants.
"Oh great." Wesley sighed. He glared at Angel. "This is your fault."
"My fault! Who wacked who?"
Wesley put the now half empty container aside and stood up. "I guess I'll go change."
He disappeared upstairs. Angel quickly cleaned up the mess.
Wesley came back down again. "I wonder where Cordelia is?"
Angel looked up at the clock. "She's only been gone for two hours."
Wesley sighed. "Which means another two or more before she gets back." he saw the look on Angel's face. "You know, I'll be fine by myself."
Angel nodded. "Yeah, it's just...I don't know. I want to help if you need it."
Wesley sat back down and resumed eating. "Thank you for cleaning it up."
"Your welcome."
They fell silent for a moment.
"So who DID you sleep with?" Angel asked suddenly.
Wesley sighed. "I thought we'd gone through this before."
"I won't tell Cordelia."
Wesley gave him a look, then sighed again. "Oh alright. Spike."
Angel felt like he had just been punched in the gut. "SPIKE?!"
Wesley laughed. "Yes, Spike. I was terribly drunk and he just came by and sat down. Things got a little...hot, shall we say?"
"Wesley, he could have killed you!"
Wesley nodded. "I know. but I was drunk."
Angel sighed. "I suppose we all do dumb things when we're drunk."
"Yes, well, I might have done it anyway. I was feeling a little down at the time."
A protective look flited across Angel's face. "Just promise me not to do anything that stupid again, k?"
Wesley grinned slightly, pleased that he'd made Angel protective over him. *wait, no, don't do that!*
"Alright, I won't."
"Good."
Cordelia got back abruptly. "Have fun?" She asked.
Wesley and Angel looked at each other and sighed. "We had a pillow fight," Wesley told her.
"A pillow fight? Jeez, and I thought Angel was incapable of doing anything but brood and fight demons."
"shut up," Angel muttered.
Wesley yawned suddenly. "I think I'm going to go take another nap."
He disappeared upstairs.
Cordelia looked at Angel. "How many naps has he taken today?"
"I have no idea," Angel said with a chuckle.
When Wesley woke up again the first thing he did was rush to the bath room. This time Angel came up to make sure he was okay.
"I..Hate..This," Wesley groaned, resting his forehead on the edge of the toilet.
"So you've said," Angel said, putting a hand on Angel's back.
Wesley suddenly jumped up and wrapped his arms around Angel. He burried his face in Angel's chest. Angel stood frozen for a moment, then hesitantly wrapped his own arms around Wesley.
"Wes? you okay?"
"No," Wesley whined. "I don't feel good and it's all Cordelia's and your fault."
"My fault? How is it my fault?"
Wesley didn't answer. He moved away from Angel and went back to his room. Angel sighed, realizing the mood swings had started. he went back downstairs.
Angel jumped when he heard the upstairs mirror shatter. It had been about a two months now since thing whole thing started, but the worst mood swing Wesley had was needyness. He and Cordy had figured either he was just calm or they were just coming late. By the sounds of it the latter was correct.
"Bloody hell!" He heard Wesley yell from upstairs. He winced.
"Wes? You okay up there?"
"No!" Wesley yelled back. He came tearing down the stairs, wearing an extremely baggy shirt and pants. "I am not okay!"
Angel looked at the very odd dress and raised an eyebrow. "Why are you wearing that?"
"Because I'm getting fat!" Wesley yelled at him.
"Oh," Angel tried not to laugh, really he did. Wesley glared at him as he sat there laughing.
"Shut up!"
Angel fell sideways on the couch, still laughing. Tears sprang into Wesley's eyes. He was suffering and Angel didn't care! He burst into tears and ran back upstairs.
Angel forced himself to stop laughing and was immediately sorry when he saw Wesley running back upstairs. He quickly got up and ran after him.
"Wesley?"
"Go away, you don't care."
Angel walked into Wesley's room. He was lying on the bed face down, still crying. Angel sighed and sat down next to him, pulling the slightly resistant head into his lap. He stroked Wesley's hair as Wesley sniffed and whipped at his eyes.
"I'm sorry," Angel said.
"No your not, you think it's funny," Wesley said half-heartedly.
"Well, it was a little. But hey, don't worry, it'll go away really fast once the baby is born."
Wesley sniffed again. "Promise?"
Angel chuckled. "Yeah, promise."
Angel stayed there and kept stroking Wesley's hair for a while, liking the softness of it. Wesley nestled his head down farther into Angel's lap.
"I like you," Wesley murmured.
Angel laughed. "You didn't a minute ago."
"Mm, I wasn't in your lap a minute ago."
Angel looked down at Wesley. Wesley, however, had fallen asleep. He sighed, then gently moved Wesley off of him and put his head on the pillow. He threw a blanket over him and went back downstairs.
"What was that all about?" Cordelia asked as he got down there.
"The mood swings have arrived," Angel told her.
"Oh. Yay."
Angel snorted. "I'm gonna try to get some work done while he's asleep."
Angel had only been working one hour before Wesley came into his office.
"We're out of ice cream."
Angel didn't look up as he answered "Mm," absently. Wesley grabbed the book he was looking at and threw it across the room. Angel looked up at him, startled.
"We...Are...Out...of...ice...cream," Wesley repeated slowly.
"I heard," Angel said, rising to pick up the book. Wesley went over and blocked him.
"I want some more."
Angel sighed. "Wesley, I have a LOT of work to do..."
"I don't care! I don't care if armageddon is coming, just get me ice cream and then go fight it!"
Luckily it wasn't an armageddon, it was just a couple demons. Angel sighed again. "Okay, I'll go get some more if you calm down."
Wesley sat down on Angel's chair, looking like a sullen three year old. "I want chocolate sauce too."
"K."
Angel quickly got the things. He came back and handed Wesley a container of the stuff. Wesley grinned happily, giving Angel a quick hug before going out to the couch. Angel groaned.
"Mood SWINGS, alright," He muttered as he sat back down.
Cordelia came into the room. "I'm going out again, see ya!"
Angel groaned again. "No," He moaned. "Don't leave me with mood swingy Wesley."
Cordelia laughed and left. Wesley came in again.
"I'm sorry," He said.
"For?" Angel asked.
"I was acting..."
"Perfectly normal for your situation. It's just a little overwhelming."
Wesley chuckled. "Want to trade?"
"No," Angel shook his head. "You keep the morning sickness and all that other stuff."
Wesley left again, heading back up to his room to take yet another nap.
