Part one
"Oh I forgot the donuts, they're in the kitchen. Can you get them Buffy?"
"Sure Willow I can do that, you need anything from the kitchen while I'm in there Giles?"
Giles looked up from the book he was reading. He had a pile of books all around him.
"No that's okay Buffy, I still have some tea here."
Buffy made a face at the thought off tea and went into the kitchen to get the donuts and grab a couple of cokes while she was there. Making another face this time at the blood in the fridge next to the cokes.
"Hey Wills, do you know what Xander is doing tonight?" Buffy asked on her way out of the kitchen.
She put the donuts and cokes on the table and grabbed another book to help with the research. She had seen a weird looking demon the other night on patrol and they were trying to find out what it was she saw, and how to slay it. Just your normal night for Buffy and her friends, she hoped that it was going to stay nice and quite. They could do with a night off just doing research for once. There had been a lot of demon action the last couple of months. Everyone needed a break.
"Yeah, he said something about going to the Bronze to play a game off pool with Spike before coming over here to help."
"With Spike? He's spending time with Spike on purpose? Is he possessed again?"
"Funny. They have been spending a lot of time together lately. I guess it's hard for Xander to have a lot of women friends and not that many male ones. I mean there is only Giles really. Now that Angel and Oz are gone. Not that he spent time with Angel really. Most of his friends are females. I wonder how that happened?"
"You're right. But I just don't trust Spike. Maybe we should go to the Bronze and make sure he is okay."
"I'm sure he's fine. Spike can't hurt him, and he knows if he lets anything happen to Xander that you would dust him. Xander needs some time doing the male thing. What ever it is that males do together. He needs some time to get over Anya leaving."
"You're right again Wills. You know I never liked her. Knew she was going to hurt him. If he's not here within the hour I'll go to the Bronze and check on him. If Spike has done anything to hurt him I will stake him."
"I'm sure he is fine Buffy. How about you two girls help me with the research so we don't have to be up all night."
"Slayer is getting into research mode here Giles. See."
"Oh and Buffy?"
Buffy looks up at Giles waiting for him to continue.
"Are there any off those donuts with the jelly in them in the kitchen? I can't seem to see any here."
"That's 'cause I left them in the kitchen. Giles you said you didn't want anything."
"Oh. I thought you were asking if I wanted any more tea."
"Would you like a jelly donut Giles?"
"Yes please if it is not too much trouble, thank you Buffy."
Buffy mumbled to herself as she got up to get her ex watcher a donut. Giles thought he heard her say something about putting a stake somewhere that would not kill vampires at all. It would hurt, but he was sure it would not kill, and he really did not want one there, so thought he would keep his month shut for the rest of the research.
As everyone settled down with their cokes and donuts, they got stuck into their work. No one really wanted another late night. Just as they were getting into research mode someone knocked at the door. Giles answered it.
"Tara, Welcome."
"Sweetie? Tara? You're done with study?"
Tara walked into Giles home and went and sat by Willow.
"No but I think there is a problem. I needed some fresh air and went out to get something to eat."
Tara looked around at everyone looking at her and blushed. She moved closer to Willow and held onto her hand as hard as she could without hurting her. She hated it when everyone was paying attention to her. She knew these were Willow's friends, and nice people, but she still did not know them too well.
"Tara?"
"Yes Mr. G....Giles?"
"You were saying?"
"Right.... yes. Umm, there is something going on at the Bronze. I'm not sure what, but its got something to do with magic."
"Magic?"
"Bronze?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure."
Tara turned towards Willow again and held onto both her hands.
"I'm not sure what kind of spell, but I can tell it's a big spell. It seems to have affected every one in and around the Bronze."
Everyone was looking at Willow. As she looked at the people around her, she felt really small.
Willow knew she played around with magic a bit too much, but she had nothing to do with it this time.
"What? What are you all looking at? I didn't do it. You believe me right Tara? I did not do this spell."
"Of course sweetie. You wouldn't lie about using magic. Right?"
"No I wouldn't. How can you say that?"
"Of course you wouldn't Willow. You told me you would tell me before you tried out a new spell again. Right Willow?" Giles said as he started looking through his magic books.
"Of course Giles, I said I would check with you on any new spell I wanted to try. I did not do this spell, whatever it is. What is it?"
This was said while Willow was looking at Tara. She was proud off her girlfriend, that she was able to see when a spell was being used was so cool. Willow was not able to do that yet, but she hoped to be able to soon.
Tara seemed to know a lot about this kind of thing and Willow knows that her girlfriend has a lot to teach her still. But first, they had to find out what kind of spell they were up against this time.
"I'm not sure, things don't seem right at the Bronze. Not evil, but not right either. I can't put my finger on it. I thought Mr. Giles might be able to work it out. That's why I come here."
"Well, that's good of you Tara, we better go to the Bronze and see what is going on."
"With you on that Giles, all packed and ready to go. Seeing you are the man with the wheels lets get a move on."
"Do you really think we need the bag off weapons Buffy? I don't think we are dealing with demons, or anything evil this time."
Buffy looked at Giles as if he were nuts.
"This is Sunnydale the home of the hellmouth remember. I'm taking the bag."
"Well when you put it that way."
And as Giles walked out the door after the girls, he picked up his axe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bronze was busy this evening. There were people everywhere, and they seemed to be having a good time, a really good time.
"What kind of spell is this? Everyone seems to be getting down."
"Buffy!"
"Sorry Giles. But its true, look at every one. No one seems to be able to keep their hands of each other."
"I would rather not look, thank you very much Buffy. But it does look like some kind of hormonal spell."
"Hormonal?"
"Something to get their hormones racing and make every one want to um..."
"Get busy?"
"Yes, thank you Willow."
"You're welcome."
"This really isn't a job for the slayer right? I can go now? I still have to patrol."
"Yes, Willow and I can handle things here. Tara you can go back to your studies if you want."
"That's okay Mr. Giles I can help here."
"Handle? What is there to handle? It's just a bunch of people having a good time. Right? That's all it is right?"
"Sometimes things like this can get out of hand Buffy. Whatever spell was used to cause this, is making people not behave the way they would normally. And on top of that, a lot of them seem to be drinking. We really should keep an eye on everyone. In case someone wants to get um mm... 'busy' with someone that does not want to get busy with them."
"Oh.... oh maybe I should stay and help."
"If you want. But I am sure that Willow and I can keep things under control. After all, we are not dealing with demons this time."
"I want, I will do a round of patrol when we are done here. Who would do a spell like this anyway?"
"Maybe someone who wants to get lucky?"
"Isn't that taking things a bit extreme?"
"I would say so."
Buffy answered Willow's question as she looked around the Bronze. Everyone looked like they where having a good time. No one looked like they where in trouble yet. She hoped it would stay that way. Buffy was not really in the mood to fight with horny guys. Or horny girls for that matter.
"Um mm Mr. Giles.... why are we not affected?"
"Good point sweetie."
"I'm not sure. Maybe you had to be in the area when the spell was cast."
"Hey Willow."
"Yea Buffy?"
"I thought you said Xander was here."
"Yea with Spike. Why?"
"I can't see him any where, or Spike."
"Maybe he got lucky."
"Both of them?"
"Well yea. Spike is hot."
"Willow!!"
"What? You don't think he's hot?"
"Well yea... ok... but it's Spike!!!"
"Well someone thinks he's hot cause he's not here, neither is Xander."
"Well it's one way for him to get over Anya. Spike can't hurt anyone, and I don't think the spell can hurt them right Giles?"
"They should be fine. But something about this spell does not seem right."
"What's wrong with it?"
"I'm not sure Buffy, like Tara I can't seem to put my finger on it. I think we should spread ourselves out and just make sure things are okay for the night."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh god, Xander felt horrible. His head hurt, his stomach was spinning, his mouth tasted funny, and his body hurt in places he thought could never hurt.
He had no desire to move at all. The idea of staying in bed all day was a good one. It is Saturday. He doesn't have to go to work. Yes staying where he is, is the plan for the day. Well it would be the plan for the day if he didn't have to pee. It really should not be that hard to go to the bathroom right? It's not like he was trying to get to another state. He just wanted to go to another room. But that meant getting out of bed. He didn't know if he could do that. He stretched a bit being careful not to move too fast. His stomach was still trying to do its own little dance. As he moved his foot, it bumped into something. He moved it again. It was a leg.
He did not remember going to bed with anyone last night. In fact he did not remember going to bed at all.
Who did he bring home last night? Anya? Didn't she leave Sunnydale? He didn't remember meeting up with her, so who was this? He moved his foot again, this time moving it up and down the other leg. This action caused a moan from the person lying next to him. Then the body moved and Xander's ears heard a louder moan. Then the next sound he heard made him forget all about needing to pee.
"Oh bloody hell!!"
Xander froze. There was no way he heard that. No way. He slowly turned his head towards the body lying next to him. Big blue eyes blinked at him. Really deep blue. How come he never noticed how blue those eyes were before. He quickly looked away. He must be dreaming, there is no way that he would be sleeping in the same bed as Spike. No matter how drunk he got the night before. Right? Yea that's right, ask the naked man in bed with an evil vampire. Naked man? Xander lifted up the covers from his bed and looked. He did not want to look. But he looked anyway. Like people that past accidents and can't help looking. What he saw made his heart stop.
Then no matter how loud he was screaming at his brain not to, Xander turned his head and looked at Spike under the covers. He turned away while he made the funniest little noise that sounded a bit like "eep", not that Xander would admit that out loud.
He jumped out of bed as fast as he could. When he looked back towards the bed Spike was still lying there. Looking at him with his blue eyes.
Looking at him up and down with a leer on his face.
Xander looked down at what Spike was looking at and made the "eep" sound again. Turned bright red, then grabbed his blanket and wrapped it around himself. But it left Spike naked. Just laying there in all his naked glory. Wearing nothing but a leer.
"What are you doing here Spike?"
Spike stretched and made himself more comfortable. Xander could not stop his eyes from watching Spike's body as he moved around his bed.
"I thought I was sleeping up till a moment ago, when some git jumped out of bed, taking the blanket with him. I'm getting a little chilly here mate, come back to bed and bring that blanket with you."
While Spike was talking, he was patting the area beside him on the bed.
Xander "eeped" yet again. He was starting to wonder if he was turning into a mouse. But he really thought it would be silly if he checked to see if he had a tail. He was sure if he had one, Spike would point it out.
"That's a cute noise you're making there Xan. Come here and we'll see what other noises you can make."
"Spike what the hell are you doing here?"
Spike just looked at him as if he was crazy.
"What, you don't remember?"
"Remember? What is there to remember?"
"Come on pet you weren't that drunk last night."
Xander just stood there, hanging on to his blanket like it was a lifeline.
Trying to work out what Spike was going on about. Trying to work out what it was that he was meant to remember. Knowing at the back of his mind what his body was telling him, but not wanting to believe it.
"I don't remember leaving the Bronze Spike."
At that, Spike started to look worried. He hoped out of bed and walked towards Xander. Naked. Spike. Naked, walking towards him. Keep your eyes up Xander. Don't look. No matter what your body is telling you, don't look down. Looking down will be bad. Jesus how did I get into this? What is this? Why did I spend the night in my bed with Spike? Why is he standing before me naked? Xander knew that he wasn't dreaming. But maybe he woke up in another universe? That could be it. Why does this kind of thing always happen with me? Do I have a tattoo on my forehead saying 'fuck with my life!!'
"Xander are you listening to me?"
"What? Yea off course I'm listening."
"Well?"
"What?"
"What is the last thing you remember from last night?"
"Playing a game of pool with you. I don't remember having a lot to drink. When did that happen?"
"It didn't."
"Then what happened? Why don't I remember? Why are you naked?"
"You are naked too pet."
"I'm not! I have a blanket."
"Yes that's what you wear everyday luv."
Spike looked him up and down with a leer again. He moved his hand as if to grab hold off something; Xander, or the blanket. Xander held on tighter to the blanket and "eeped", moving as far from Spike as he could get.
"Calm down Xander, we will work this out. Maybe someone used some kind of mojo or something."
"Magic? Some kind of spell?"
"That's what it smells like."
"You don't remember last night either?"
"No, I remember last night."
Spike moves closer to Xander, and checks him out again. It was real weird the way he kept on doing that. Xander was not used to being checked out. And being checked out by Spike was just too wiggy. Especially a naked Spike.
"I remember everything about last night. Every single second of it."
The tone of Spikes voice made shivers run up and down Xander's back. He was not as dumb as people liked to think he was. He can connect the dots like anyone else. And there were enough dots here to put together and come up with only one answer to what had happened here last night. He is naked with a naked Spike. And his body was hurting in places it really should not be hurting. But to top it all off, the one thing that made him know without a doubt what happened when they left the Bronze was the way Spike kept looking at him, hitting on him.
Oh my god, I am being hit on by a vampire. A soulless vampire. Can my life get any weirder? No, there is no doubt in Xander's mind about what happened. He is very grateful that he does not remember. And he would rather not know. He was finding it hard enough to stop his brain from giving him mental images about what went on in that bed. He did not want to be told anything about it at all.
"How come you remember and I don't?"
"Maybe the spell didn't take with me."
"What kind of spell was it?"
"Not sure. I didn't notice anything."
"Do you think Willow did it?"
"Don't know, maybe. There's only one way to find out."
"I'm not asking. No ones to know about this. No one!!"
"Know about what pet?"
"Will you stop that!"
Spike lifted his eyebrow and just looked at Xander.
"Stop what luv?"
"That!!"
Another raised eyebrow.
"The 'pets', and 'luv's'!! And the...the nakedness!!"
"There is something wrong with my body?"
Now Spike was pouting. Oh god, don't look at the pout, don't look at the pout. Jesus, don't look down!!! Xander looked everywhere around the room except at Spike. Trying to work out a way to leave the room and get away form the pouting naked vampire!! Move Xander, move!! Come on legs. But Xander's legs did not move. They seemed to have a mind of their own. They did not want to move. They wanted to stay right where they were.
"Xander?"
Spike whined. He sounded like a five year old who was told he couldn't play with his favorite toy any more. With the pout he nearly had the look as well.if it wasn't for the leer he was giving Xander. And if you didn't look down. Which Xander was trying very hard not to do. He really needed to be able to think right now.
"Xanddeerr?"
"What?"
The pouting lip starting trembling. And some how Spike had made his eyes look bigger and wet. How on earth does he do that? Does it work for him? Can he teach me? Focus Xander!! You got to focus man.
"What Spike?"
"You don't like my body?"
Xander tried, he really did try. For about five seconds, then he could not help himself, he did what he had been trying not to do all morning, he looked!!! He looked all the way down. Slowly. Then all the way back up slowly. Very slowly. His month felt dry and it was hard to swallow. When he got back to Spikes face, Spike had a shit eating smirk on his face.
Xander felt himself blush from head to toe. He really didn't think he had enough blood to spare 'cause when he did his slow appraisal of Spike, all his blood had gone south. And by the look in the naked vampires eyes he knew it.
"Well?"
"Eep?"
"My body?"
"Eep!!"
"I take that as a 'I like it very much, thank you' eep."
Xander just stood there, looking at Spike with his mouth hanging open. He knew he did not have enough blood left to spare to make his brain work. So he stopped trying. Stopped trying to move. Stopped trying to make a sound. He just stopped trying all together. He just stood there with his mouth hanging open, and he had no idea how to close it. He watched Spike slowly walk towards him. He looked like pure sex on legs, with his beautiful blue eyes looking darker then normal, his kissable lips. Did I think kissable lips? No off course not. Spike does not have kissable lips. No way. And why can I babble think when I don't even remember how to close my own mouth.
Oh and there I go, I'm drooling. That's just great. End off the world please come now. Hellmouth open!! Now!! Please?? God those kissable lips are moving. Ears work! Now! Listen to the vampire. Hear him roar! God babble stop!! Oh, that worked. Why did the hellmouth not open?
"Xander are you listening to me?"
"Off course."
"Well?"
Haven't we been through this before? I'm sure we've been through this before. What was my line again? Oh that's right.
"What?"
"Do you want to touch?"
"Touch?"
"Me."
"Hell yes!!"
Spike moved closer to Xander. Trapping him against the wall. There was no way to get away. He had his arms up on either side of Xander's head moving into his personal space. Wait a minute. Pause, rewind.
"Oh god I said it out loud right?"
"You sure did pet."
Spike starting licking Xander's neck. That can't be good. A vampire licking my neck. Oh, okay a vampire sucking my neck. Nibbling, these nibbling!!
"Um, Spike you want to stop that?"
"Not really mate."
Licking, back to licking. Okay, that's better than nibbling right? Its got to be better than nibbling.
"Spike we've got to found out what is going on."
"What do you mean mate?"
"We've got to go to Giles and see why I don't remember."
"Yea okay, but do we have to go now?"
"Now would be good."
"I'm busy."
Spike was still licking and nibbling and sucking Xander's neck. He seemed to have a thing for necks. Being a vampire and all Xander guessed it was understandable.
Xander was finding it really hard just to be able to stay standing.
Breathing was something he was only just able to do as well. Thinking was out of the question. Feeling, feeling was about all he could do right now. And wow! He was feeling great. Having a vampire licking your neck worked better than painkillers. Who knew a vampire playing with your neck could feel so good. Xander wondered if it feels this good when a vampire was killing you.
"Um Spike?"
"Yea love?"
"Can you stop that?"
"No."
"Spike please, I want to know what's going on here. Don't you want to know why I don't remember?"
"No, want to make new memories."
Spike said as he moved up from Xander's neck and kissed him on the mouth.
The kiss shocked Xander right down to his toes. He had never felt anything like that before. Not that he could remember anyway. But it had to stop.
He could not let this go on. Not with Spike. It just could not be. There could never be anything between him and the big bad. Apart from the whole vampire thing, Xander was just absolutely, completely with out a doubt not gay. So why the hell are you kissing the male vampire donut boy? Got to stop this now! Get your tongue out of the vampire's mouth! Push him away!
"Oi! What did you do that for? We were starting to have some real fun here!"
"Shower. Need a shower. Then I'm going to Giles."
"Okay mate, but we are not finished here."
"There's nothing to finish."
"That kiss just proved there is."
"Get dressed Spike. As soon as I'm done in the shower we are off."
"I need a shower too mate, how about we share the water.?"
"Not going to happen blondie. You can use the shower after me. Now please get out of my way."
As Xander walked to the bathroom, he wondered just what else could happen in his strange little world now. Then felt like hitting himself for letting the thought in his head to start with.
Part Two"Oi, open up, will you? I'm burning here."
Oh dear lord, what on earth is Spike doing here during the day?
" 'Bout time."
Giles heard coming from under a burning blanket, as he opened the door to his apartment. Of course Spike was not alone. There goes my quiet morning, silly me for wanting one. Xander come in after the blanket. Dragging his feet. Giles checked outside to make sure that the girls were not with them, then closed the door. He watched Xander walk over to the sofa, looking like the world was collapsing around him. What happened this time? Could he still be upset over Anya leaving? Why is he with Spike?
The vampire, that whom he was silly enough to invite into his home, had finished jumping on the blanket, making sure that all the little fires were out. Spike was mumbling something about all good vampires being tucked up in bed right now, and the sun being unnatural. Then, with a silly grin on his face, he sat down beside Xander. It was frightening really. The vampire even sounded cheerful.
Something was going on with Xander and Spike. Giles had no idea what. He was going to find out. Xander was on the edge of the seat, as far away from the vampire as he could get. Spike seemed to be getting a lot of enjoyment out of making Xander feel uncomfortable. And he still had that silly grin on his face. Giles kept watching, as Spike seemed to be trying to sit on Xander's lap. Then Spike leaned over and whispered something to the boy. Whatever it was it made Xander go whiter then he already was, then bright red and he jumped up of the sofa. He was ready to run out of Giles's home, screaming by the looks of things. What on earth was Spike up to this time? And how much is it going to cost him to make him stop?
"Oi watcher, we have a question for you."
Giles just looked at the two in front of him, and raised his eyebrow. He was not sure if he wanted to hear any question that the bleached vampire may want to ask him. Xander was hopping from one foot, to the other trying to get away from the vampire. But Spike had a hold of Xander's pants and would not let go.
"Do you mind, pet? You're starting to make me dizzy."
Xander looked at Spike as if he was trying to work out what it was that gotten hold of him. Then tried again to get away from the vampire.
"Where you going, luv? This is what you wanted. You dragged me out of a nice warm bed. So ask the watcher your question and lets get back to that bed."
Bed? Oh dear lord, no it can't be, no way. One of his kids sleeping with a vampire was enough, thank you. At least, that one had a soul at the time. And Buffy? How would Buffy take to something like this? They could be spending all their time trying to stop her from staking Spike. Why does Xander always get himself in these kinds of things? Maybe Willow was right. The boy could be a demon magnet. If there was anything to do with demons or some kind of magic he was always in the middle. Giles had no idea how Xander managed to stay alive this long living on the Hellmouth. With the kind of luck, the boy had he really should have been killed years ago.
"Xander?" Giles asked the boy as quietly as he could, not wanting to upset him any more then he already seemed to be.
Xander just looked around the room as if he was trying to find a way to get out. He had never seen Xander so nervous before. Giles decided to help him out a bit. This of course, had something to do with the spell last night. The two men had ended up together for the night. But Giles had no idea why Xander wanted to talk to him about, or why would Spike want to? Giles could see the vampire wanting to let the slayer know but why come to him?
"I understand that you two were at the Bronze last night."
Xander's head come up real fast and just looked at him as if he had forgotten Giles was there. Xander was starting to get into panic mode, and they really did not want a panicked Xander right now.
"What of it, mate?" Came from the grinning vampire, and not a smirk, a real grin. It was not right, not natural.
"There was a spell cast over the Bronze last night."
"A spell?" Xander squeaked. He sounded a bit like a mouse. When did he start making that sound? Giles had never heard him make it before, it was really kind of cute. Cute? That's enough Rupert. What has gotten into you? You do not think Xander is cute, he is like a son to you.
"It made people want to ...um..."
"Shag?"
"Well yes, Spike if you want to put it like that, it about sums it up."
"So um G-man, you are telling me that everyone at the Bronze got um some?"
"Yes, that's what it looked like when we went to check things out last night."
Xander was now sitting back down beside Spike. He still looked very nervous. But at least he was not trying to run out of the room.
"So I understand, from what happened at the Bronze last night, and with the way you two are acting this morning, that the two of you ......"
"Shagged?'
"Yes." Giles said, looking at Xander trying to see how he was taking this. He didn't look that well at all. In fact he was starting to look a little on the green side.
"Are you okay, Xander?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, just have a bit of a headache, I took something for it before I got here."
Spike lounged back against the sofa. Giles looked at Xander, who was looking everywhere but at Giles or Spike. Spike had moved his hand to the back of Xander's neck. Rubbing it as if he was trying to give the boy comfort. Xander was moving into the touch, seeking it out. Which was going against the rest of his body language, 'cause he was trying to put as much space as he could between him and Spike.
What did the boy want? To be with Spike or not? At first, Giles had thought that Xander was nervous, because he was about to tell his friends that he liked men, now he was not too sure. Could Spike have forced himself on Xander? No, that's not it. Apart from the fact that the chip would not have let him do that, a part of Xander did seem to want Spike. What on earth is going on here? Could the boy be having second thoughts about being gay? That could be it.
"Xander is that what happened last night?" Giles asked trying to get to the bottom of this whole mess. Why did spells in Sunnydale never go right?
"What?" Xander looked up at Giles, but would not look him in the eye.
"Did you and Spike...shag, for want of a better word, last night?"
"I guess so." Xander looked back down at the floor, but leant into the vampire's hand. He seemed to be enjoying the neck massage he was getting.
"You guess so?" Giles said, trying to get Xander to open up to why he was here. It can't just be 'cause he had sex with a guy.
"Well, I woke up in bed with a naked Spike and just look at the way the bleached one has been acting."
Giles looked at Spike again. Apart from looking way too happy, he also looked very possessive of Xander. That can't be a good thing. A possessive Vampire could be a very dangerous Vampire. Add a possessive slayer and a young man that was not sure about what he wanted, and you could have .. well trouble. Big trouble.
"You two can't remember?"
Why? Did the spell cause that problem or did they have too much to drink.
"I can remember mate, the Whelp can't."
"What is the last thing you remember, Xander?'
"Playing pool with Spike."
"Did you drink a lot?" It could be drink Rupert old boy, don't start panicking about the spell.
"No, I don't think so, but I woke up with one hell of a hangover."
There goes that hope, it looks like we have a town full of people that don't remember what they did last night. Or maybe not.
"Spike did Xander drink a lot?"
"Nay, he was busy. Wasn't he?"
Xander just kept on looking down at the floor. Why can Spike remember? Was he not affected by the spell? Could Spike have wanted Xander before last night? He was starting to think that it was possible, the vampire always made sure that he was paired with Xander on patrol. Giles had thought it was cause the boy always got himself in the middle of any trouble, and that way Spike could make sure he got some violence for the night. Maybe he was doing it to make sure nothing harmed Xander? Why did I not see this before now?
But right now, they had other things to worry about. He would hate to think that there was a whole town of young people that didn't remember what they did the night before. But it looked like that was the case. He started going through the list of books he owned in his mind. Trying to remember if there was some way he can help everyone get their memories back. Though Xander getting his memories back might not be a good thing. Maybe he is the only one that didn't remember, could the boy have been drugged?
"Drugs?" Giles asked the two seating before him. Not sure what answer he wanted to hear.
"What?" Xander sounded shocked.
"What?" Spike sounded outraged.
What did that mean? He did not drug Xander? The vampire could be a good actor but somehow Giles didn't think so.
"Could Xander have been drugged last night? Is that why he can't remember?"
Spiked jumped off the sofa in outrage. He looked mad enough to kill. Okay, be careful what you say around the vampire when Xander is involved. Thank the gods he can't bite, if he had drank from the boy last night they could have had a really big problem on their hands. Not that the one they already had is not big enough.
"What are you saying Watcher? You think I drugged the boy?
"No... no, I'm just trying to work out what happened last night."
"I don't have to drug anyone to get shagged. I may be evil, but I never force myself on anyone. I thought the boy knew what he was doing last night. I had no idea that he didn't. It didn't even enter my head that he could be drunk or drugged. I'm not into that kind of thing. It's, more fun to seduce someone then drug them."
"Drugged? I could have been drugged? You drugged me?"
"Weren't you listening Whelp? I didn't drug you. I didn't even have to seduce you. You more or less jumped me."
"Not listening , not listening. Did not happen." Xander was chanting as he put his hands over his ears and began pacing up and down the room. He looked like he was about to fall apart.
"I thought you had got past the stage where you hide under your blanket pretending there are no monsters under your bed mate."
"That's enough, Fangless. You are part of the problem here. So stop talking. My headache is back and I just want to forget the whole thing. Which won't be hard, as I can't remember anyway."
"Whelp, calm down. I thought you wanted to know what had happened. That's why you dragged me here isn't?'
Xander looked at Spike, then looked at Giles, then looked at Spike again. He seemed to slouch a bit as if he was giving up on the world and sat back down.
"I just wanted to know what caused it, not want happened after. So G-man it was a spell that made me have sex with Spike?"
"It was a hormone spell, yes."
"So, I was a horny nineteen year old guy wanting some sex and anyone would have done?'
"Hey!" Spike jumped up this time and he looked like he was ready to start pacing.
"Yes, that seems to be the case." Giles said while he was keeping an eye on the vampire, he did not need anything broken because of Spike's temper.
"Again hey! I'm not just anybody here, you wanted me Whelp."
"You heard Giles. I wanted sex. You where just there."
"That was not the way it was Harris. You don't remember, so you don't know what you're talking about."
"It does not matter anyway. It was a spell, Spike. It's not going to happen again."
"Yeah? Well, what about this morning?"
"Nothing happened this morning."
"That's not the way I remember. You wanted me, whelp."
"I never!!"
The two men just looked at each other for a while. Whatever was going on between the two of them needed to be worked out. But there was no way that Spike and Xander would be able to work things out if the girls put their point of view into the whole thing. Not that Giles wanted them to work anything out. He did not really want someone else he cared about involved with a vampire. Buffy had already proved that would never work out. But the two of them needed to be getting along when Buffy and Willow got here. So giving them some time on their own is the best thing he could do for them right now.
"Well you two, I have a couple of books upstairs that I need to have a look at. See if I can find something to help you remember last night."
"That's okay, G-man, I don't need to remember, in fact I really don't want to."
"Would you mind not calling me that. Giles would do fine. I'm sure I have told you that before."
"Nope, I don't remember you saying anything like that. Hey, do you think the spell made me forget?"
"Funny, very funny. But I do think we need to find a way for you to remember."
"You think you can do that, mate?" Spike sounded like he wanted nothing more than for Xander to remember the night before.
When Giles thought about it, Xander remembering the night before would possibly give Spike exactly what he wanted. That's if it was as good a night as Spike was acting like it was. It was starting to seem more and more like Xander would be better off not remembering.
"I'm not sure Spike. I will try but it will require some research." Giles said as he headed towards the stairs
"There's no need, Giles. I told you, I don't want to remember."
Spike growled and threw himself down on the couch. Spike growled? That couldn't be good. The two of them have got to work this out. Giles thought it would be safe enough for him to do his research upstairs, give them some room. But be in shouting distance. There was not a lot Spike could do with the chip. He was sure Xander would be safe enough.
"You have got to understand Xander, you may feel like your life would be better off not remembering. Spike, would you stop that growling, we all know you're a vampire. You don't need to remind us every couple of minutes. As I was saying Xander, it's not just you we have to think about here."
"It's not?"
"There are others, Xander. There were a lot of people at the Bronze under the spell. They may not remember what happened either. So I'm going to go upstairs and look through some books. See if I can find something to help."
"Research? I can do research. I'll help."
"That's quite alright. I can do this. You talk to Spike, get this worked out, before the girls get here."
"But.--"
"Work it out Xander. We don't need Spike growling when Buffy gets here or you will be trying to work out what happened last night with a pile of dust."
"That does not sound like a bad idea to me, in fact I'm liking the idea a lot."
"Xander!"
With that Giles left the boy and vampire alone hoping they didn't break too many of his things.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ -------------------------
Can't hurt the human, can't hurt the human. Mine! Mine! I can do what I bloody want. Ow! Ow! Ow! Okay, okay. I get it, can't hurt the human, can't hurt the human. Bloody hell, mine! Grrrr.
"Spike?"
"Grrrr"
"Spike? Did you just growl at me?"
Spike looked at Xander. He was standing there hopping from one foot to the other with both a nervous and annoyed look on his face. And he looked so damn adorable. What is it about the whelp that always got his attention? He is just a human, the slayers pet. He should not have any kind of a hold over the vampire at all. But from the moment Angel used him at the school, Xander had Spike's attention. Not many humans could do that. They are just food. But with this one, Spike saw more then food. The vampire saw someone he wanted to know more about, so he just stood back and watched Xander grow from a young teenager to the adult he is today. He meant to turn him when the time was right.
Now, it looked like he will never have the chance to do that. If only he hadn't been so drunk the night the demon had hit the boy over the head. He could have turned him then, but nooo had been all upset over his dark princess. Could not think past the pain she had put him through yet again. Sure, the whelp was young then but at least he would have had him.
Time, I guess, it's just going to take time. The chip can't work forever. 'Til then, just have to make sure the boy does not die. Which is not easy, with him being the slayers pet and everything.
But last night, jeez.. last night. Spike never thought he would get that chance. He never thought he could have Xander, not 'til he was able to make the boy his. The vampire should have known something was up. The whelp had never made a move on him before. But he just had to take what had been given to him and worry about the rest later.
Well, here is later. What are you going to do about it, mate? Nothing!! He's mine!!! I made him mine last night. He drank my blood, I drank his blood, he's mine!!
"Grrrr"
"Spike, stop doing that. What's wrong with you?"
Xander had moved away from Spike. He smelled as if he was scared of him. Which just made the vampire more upset. As if he could harm him. As if he would . Well, apart from turning him that was. And fun in the bedroom. But he's nothing like Angelus. Spike was not into hurting what's his. He looks after what belongs to him. And the boy is now his. Not letting him go, I'm not.
"What's wrong with me? Nothing wrong with me, mate."
Spike stood up from the sofa and walked towards Xander. Who kept on walking backwards, trying to get away. That's all he had been doing since they woke up this morning. Trying to get away from Spike. And the vampire had had enough of it. It was time to put this whole thing to a stop, let Xander know exactly where he stood when it come to Spike. No more of this silliness. He's mine and it's about time he knew it. But got to calm him down first, hate him being scared of me.
"Xander calm down, you know I can't, hurt you. Just sit down. Something we have to talk about."
Xander took a deep breath and went to sit on one of the Watchers seats. Spike notice that it was not the sofa. Guess he did not want me to sit by him. Make the most of it boy, cause I'm not going to let you get away with it for long.
"You comfortable, pet?"
Xander nodded at Spike and moved around a bit. He really did not look that comfortable to Spike. The vampire stood in front of Xander trying to work out what to say.
"About last night, mate.--"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Well, you're going have to."
"No, I don't."
"Xander, just listen to me would you."
Xander just sat there and looked at the vampire. At least he is not saying anything, Spike thought.
"There's something you need to know about last night."
"Why?"
"Bloody hell Whelp, let me say this. Then you can be as mouthy as you want."
Nothing from the boy, he just sat there as quiet as can be. But for how long? Better get this over and done with before he opens his mouth again.
"As I was saying , there is something you need to know."
"You mean apart from the fact that I was your butt monkey."
"Grrrr."
"More growling great."
"Xander!!"
"What? I'm, being quiet , you're the one growling. Hurry up will you, I need to get some painkillers."
Spike looked at Xander, now that he mentioned it, the boy didn't look good at all. He was pale and sweaty, and rubbing his forehead as if he was in a lot of pain. Spike went into the watcher's bathroom and got some pills. On his way back to Xander, he grabbed a glass of water. Making the whelp take the pills, Spike nudging him forward on the seat, the vampire sat behind Xander and started rubbing his temples and neck.
Xander was either too tired, or in too much pain to make a fuss about Spike touching him. Spike did this for a while being quiet and trying to get the boy to relax. He pulled Xander closer to him. Spike bent his head to take a sniff of the boy, rubbing his nose along the neck. He did not smell any fear this time, he did smell a bit of pain and a tiny amount of arousal. Spike chuckled to himself. Would never want me outside of a spell would you pet? The morning proved you wrong boy. I'll prove it again. Your mine and the sooner you accept that the better. Spike relaxed into his pet trying his best to rub away the pain.
"Spike?"
"Yeah, pet?"
"I didn't know vampires purred."
Bloody hell, didn't even know I was purring. Well the demon thinks of the whelp as his. He's quite happy sitting here with the boy in his arms.
"Yeah, well, don't you tell anyone. It won't be good for the big bad image will it."
Xander chuckled and relaxed against the vampire. He must be really tired, well going to make the most of it, while I can.
"Xan? Are you feeling any better luv?"
"Yeah, a little."
"There's something you need to know about last night."
"Yeah, you told me already. Just get on with it."
"Take your shirt off pet."
Xander jumped off the seat so fast, the slayer would have thought he was a vampire the way the whelp moved. Xander turned and looked at the vampire in outrage. He looked so hot, standing there. Jeez he would make a great demon. Just got to get this chip out first.
"Take my shirt off?" Squeaked Xander with that little mouse sound he has been making lately.
He's so cute!! Gods, what's wrong with me? Adorable? Hot? Cute? I have got to do some killing! Got to get back into the Big bad mode. The chip has made me soft. Yeah right mate, it's all the chip's fault. You never wanted the boy before you got the chip. You never spent the last three odd years making sure he lived. It's all the chips fault. You keep telling yourself that mate.
"Yeah Whelp, I want to show you something."
"By taking my shirt off?"
"Will you just do it, Xander? The watcher will come back down soon, don't really want him looking at you half naked."
Xander turned bright red and just looked at Spike as if he was crazy. Then he took a shaky breath , moved away from Spike and turned around.
"Xander!"
"I'm doing it, I don't know why but I'm doing it , just stay over there, okay."
"Fine, just do it."
Xander took his shirt off, but stayed facing the wall. It was as if he did not want to look at Spike at all. Spike held back his growl, and took a couple of deep calming breaths. It's funny that after over a hundred and twenty years that action can still calm him.
"Now what?"
"Now, mate, I want you to lift up your right arm and have a look underneath it."
"Shit!"
Xander turned around and looked at Spike, the boy was looking pale again and very upset. You're going to have to take this easy, mate. He's going to hate this, no matter how you put it. It would be so much easier if he could just remember what happened. The feelings involved, not just what happened. The watcher better find a cure.
"What's this? Did you cut me?"
"I can't hurt you pet, you know that."
"But there's a cut on my arm. It looks like it was deep. I don't remember it happening. How did it get here?"
"You did it."
"I did? Why would I cut myself?"
"For me."
"What?"
"You cut yourself for me."
"Why would I do that?"
"So I could drink your blood." Spike could not help saying that in a Count Dracula type of voice, someone's got to be the comic relief here, the boy's not up to it.
Xander went even paler. It did not stop him from looking great though. Standing there in nothing but his pants. Spike licked his lips, remembering how his pet tasted the night before. The boy was right. He's a nummy treat. One he plans on having again real soon. But I can't pounce on the boy, I have to take this slow. Xander may of jumped me last night, but if I want to get anywhere with him now, I'm going to have to take it slow. It's time to seduce the boy. It's going to be a fun ride, one I can't wait to start.
"Drink from me? Why would you do that? Better yet, why would I let you?"
"You're not stupid Xander , you know why. I have seen you read the watchers books on vampires. Last night you knew why and you agreed to it. You drank from me also."
"No, that didn't happen, I would never drink from you!"
"You did! You're mine. And you know it. If you just stop all your panicking for a while and just feel, you would feel me in you. You did not drink much, but I'm there. The more you drink the stronger the connection will be."
"I never agreed to this!"
"You did!"
"It was the spell, I didn't know what I was doing."
"Bloody hell, Whelp! Will you stop blaming it on the spell?
"What, Fangless? You think this would have happened without the spell."
"Jumped me whelp, nobody else in the place, me. The spell didn't make you pick me, it just made you horny."
"You did something!"
"I didn't do anything Xander. What the hell could I have done? Can't hurt you. Can't force myself on you."
"I wouldn't have done it without the spell."
"The spell just made you horny Xander. It didn't make you pick me. You could have picked anyone. It was me you woke next to, not some chick from the Bronze. What does that tell you?"
"It tells me that I was out of my mind, that I was not thinking right."
"Grrrr."
"Will you stop with the growling already?"
"Will you just admit that you want me already?"
Xander put his shirt back on and started pacing the room. Spike knew this was not going well, he really should learn to hold his temper. He was a demon how was he supposed to do that?
It just made him so angry seeing the boy refusing to admit he wanted him. Did he forget about this morning already? The whelp was so turned on that the vampire could smell him from across the room. It was time to stop talking and show the boy what it was he wanted.
The vampire always thought that action was the best way to go. Spike watched Xander as he kept pacing. It was like he was trying to outrun his feelings. No more, Spike wanted this worked out now. The next time Xander moved past Spike, he grabbed Xander, and pulled them both down into the seat.
"Spike! What the hell do you think you are doing?"
"Just what it looks like, mate?"
The vampire moved towards that wonderful warm mouth and dived in. Yes! It's just how he remembered. The vampire was already addicted to the boy's taste, his warmth. His mouth is like heaven to the demon. Or it would be if the whelp would stop trying to take his nummytreat away. Spike took hold of the boy's head and hold it still, and went back to his treat. The boy soon stopped fighting him and joined in on the fun. Xander-tongue, nummy. Now this was heaven. Spike could stay here like this forever. Xander was really getting into it also. Yeah right pet, you don't want me. That's why you have your tongue down my throat and your hands pulling me closer. Better let the boy breath, necks real nice. Remember this. Mouth back to mouth, ohhh heaven.
"Eww!!"
Spike looked up to see who else was trying to take his nummytreat away from him. Oh great it's the slayer herself. That's the last thing they needed right now.
"Oh bloody hell!"
"Buffy!! Buffy!! It's not what it looks like."
That's just great I get the boy to take one step forward and he takes two steps back, when is anything ever going to go my way?
"That's good 'cause. It looked like you had your tongue down Spike's throat."
"Well, when you put it that way.--"
"Giles!!"
